Not once did he ever rush me out the door, and fully explained my dachshund and their future potential problems. Recommended all types of food, activities and medication to do.
I recently took my 14 year old dog to Harbour Veterinary and my experience was great, even with the sad outcome. I ended up putting my fury baby to sleep and I was a mess. The staff was so wonderful and compassionate. You can definitely tell they all have a soft spot for animals. The doctor and her assistant stayed with me and Romeo until the final goodbye. The prices were great and very reasonable. I would highly recommend them for any and all pet needs.
Dr. Harbour is an awesome vet! Had an emergency and had my friend bring my dachshund in for a visit because of swelling. He examined him and sent him home for bed rest and some antibiotics. Came back 5 days late for a follow up and he explained everything to me.
So in short, they are not upfront about their prices, not even close they were nearly $200 off. They will say anything to sell you a service and then do whatever they want anyways(Stated under sedation was best for microchip it was done in 30 seconds in the hallway). And will then blame you for their inadequacies. I wouldn't take a tangerine here and expect them to take good care of it.
I only wish I found out about this doctor before I put down 2 puppies in a 3 week time. I think they would have actually had a fighting chance.
Receptionist was so very nice!
After 20 years I still go to this Veterinary clinic. Love the people and trust Dr. Harbor with all my furkids
.
I was so excited to find a vet that was caring and detail oriented for my animals. Until that is the second trip. During our initial visit we were given pricing information on spaying our dog and getting her chipped while she was already put under. "It is much safer and less stressful for the dog that way" The vet's words not mine.
I later called informed them who I was and what I wanted, which was both of the listed services. It was $10 more than it was previously when discussed but I said go ahead, they then said it was another $50 for blood work. Went ahead and paid that. Dropped my dog off, got a phone call everything was complete, ventured to get her back. Was told she now needed pain pills. another $50. I paid it was given a handful of things and then rushed aside so the line could be helped. I stood awkwardly next to the desk waiting for a break in the line to finish my transaction by asking where the paperwork for the microchip was. I was then told "Oh we didn't know you wanted that, next time tell us what you want because we didn't do it that's another $60" Which I also paid. But upon telling them I told both the person I called and the Dr. I was told I was lying that if the receptionist had been told it wold have been written down, and that if I only told the Dr. that it doesn't work because they rarely communicate effectively with the front end staff. That just goes to show you what kind of place we're talking about.
