Very clean store with very nice product selection, but the majority of staff there are VERY rude. Sam is very helpful and that’s it. I do not send my dogs to be groomed by people with nasty attitudes... can’t be trusted.
I used their grooming services for the first time. I was pleased with my dog's appearance but was upset that she stayed there longer then normal because a groomer called out. I get that people can't come to work sometimes but I should have been told at the time of drop off or called to let me know that my 11:00 appointment would be pushed back 4 hours. I was home waiting anxiously to pick up my dog. I'm sure she felt like I deserted her. I should have been given the option to pick her up and then bring her back a few hours later or reschedule her grooming appointment. I felt bad that she was caged all those hours. She is a rescue and had a rough life. I was hesitant about her being caged at all but figured it would only for a short time because I would get immediately after her grooming. Her previous groomer in Va. Beach never caged dogs. They had several play rooms. She was at Petco for six and a half hours. I wasn't able to get her to eat before dropping her off. She went most of the day without eating. I'm not sure if I would bring her back to them. Maybe if I specify to notify me immediately if her appointment would be pushed back more than 2 hours.
Always a wait at the register. The grooming takes too long and my when I pick my dog up he vomits and has anxiety attacks. Four hours in a cage and it's kind of like too many animals are being groomed at a time. Wow, assembly line. I don't like that and take my dog to a private groomer.
I visit the store on a semi frequent basis and love the staff. They are always helpful and the store always looks well maintained. Today I stopped in for some fish for my 55 gallon. Denisha was very patient with me as I pointed out each particular guppy I wanted among the sea of guppies. I know it was frustrating but she stayed calm and focused while helping me.
We go there weekly and take our dog there to pick out his treats, toys, etc. The staff are very nice and helpful. This is a brand new Petco that just opened in the last year or so, when you walk into the store, the store is bright, airy and not cluttered. Not only my pup loves the store, I enjoy going there too.
